If you are noticing an increase in leaf drop (abscission) from your citrus trees at this time of year, don't worry, it is common. Some leaf abscission normally takes place throughout the year. However, the most intensive leaf drop occurs during the spring blossoming period, including BOTH the old, as well as very young current season's leaves. A second, prolonged period of leaf abscission occurs during the fall. This also applies to in ground tree. - Millet (1,051-)

Thanks for the info Millet, I have been seeing this problem over the last two weeks and was worried, my soil temps drop to about 65-67 at night so I didn't think it was WLD. Most of the leaves are as you said large older ones or small late 2009 growth.

My lemon trees Meyer and Variegated Eureka are showing this the most, they are pushing out blossoms like crazy though.

Thank you for the heads up. I was freaking out. It was doing fine in the grow light throughout the winter. It's so weird that as weather improve everything start dropping off

Yes, the floor of my greenhouse is covered with old leaves and blossom petals. It always smells heavenly in there this time of year.

I'm so glad to read this. I too was freaking out. My Meyer Lemon has been dropping so many leaves these last couple of weeks. I logged in today to try and figure out what might be going on. I'm afraid that if this goes on much longer it will be bare. I have lots of blooms and fruit, but fewer and fewer leaves. I do have new leaves growing. So I am hoping that that is a good sign.
