These are a couple of my test tree which I torture frequently in the name of mad science. Wink

The first is my Cara Cara tree from which I pruned 2/3 of the branches for testing. I don't recommend anyone else do this. It is normally hard on the tree.

The next two pictures are of the unidentified Grapefruit Tree which I rescued from a nearby Home Depot in February. They gave me a big discount since they considered it a cull tree. It was root bound, but for testing I left in the original small container until 5 days ago when I had the results I wanted and moved it into a much larger container. I may also start adding a little nitrogen now.

I will add some more close ups of citrus leaves soon. I have some nice ones showing leaf size and vein pattern. You all must be very excited by now so I will share one of my DW's flowers with you! Wink

They're all leafing out and looking pretty good, which is a positive sign. Keep up what you're doing! The flowering plant in the last picture, isn't it a what we call Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)? If it is, those grow like crazy here and are quite ubiquitous... I train them as a flowering hedge in my front yard. Laughing

Best,
Igor

Yes, That is one of my wife's hibiscus plants. It is funny; I buy and plant them, then they magically become hers......

The grapefruit tree should be in very good health soon. It has a great root system that was choked into a small pot. I will get it in top shape and give it to one of my neighbors. It is surprising how happy neighbors become with the gift of a tree. It makes me happy with the thought that eventually there will be more trees in the sub-division providing fruit for the children. At least that is my hope.
