Ok, so my wife was diligent in polunating the Paw Paws by hand. It looks like were some of the flowers were there are 3 fingers that could be mini paw paws, do paw paws grow in 2-3 fruit clusters like this?

thanks

Hi Frank, how old & how big are your paw paws? I have 2 that are 6-7 yrs old & about 5 ft tall & no blossoms. Do you fertilize - & with what? Thanks

Hi Patty
So I have maybe 15 trees in my yard, all varying in size and type. We actually have lost several of these the second year, I guess becuase the must have dried out. Anyway we had 4 that flowed and three that now have fruit. These 3 are 6 or so feet tall and were purchased locally. I have given them some 10-10-10, but not very much. I do water them quite a bit and I think this has helped a lot. The fruit is around an inch long and in clusters. I am not sure of the variety, I am guessing it isnt a select or davis or anthing.

These same trees flowered last year and didnt keep any fruit...

hope this helped
Frank

well we picked about 20 paw paws from our 3 fruting trees. Pretty good like bland bananas. We bought these from penn. pride and they were 5-6 feet tall......................

The frost in early oct got the rest

Congrats Frank!!
I have never tasted one, but it is described as tasting like banana/apple custard. It was George Washington's favorite desert. He chilled them first. I can't wait for next summer.

Thanks, I'll remember that WHEN I GET FRUITS next year.
I have 2 trees side by side to pollinate @ other (like it says), but I will still hand pollinate.
