We have been getting blasted with rain bands & wind gust for the last two days... Looks like it's turning toward Skeeter now. Great for the plants and grass, but I'm about sick of it now...

We could use a little rain--but I hope we don't get the 2 ft they got in parts of FL. We have only had a little over 3 1/2 inches for Aug---I think 6-8 inches would be normal.
Hopefully, by the time it gets here it will be moving a little faster! I am not worried about flooding here at my home (if we flood here 90% of FL will be under water), but I do have a place on the river in AL that is prone to flooding from hurricane rains. _________________ Skeet

A little windy, some light rain. It was suppose to start raining yesterday afternoon--then they said rain would be starting around midnight--it finally started a misting rain around noon today.
I think the heavier rain will be on the back side--sometime Sunday.
Now they are saying it will head up the Mississippi and out across the middle Atlantic states. _________________ Skeet

Fay was just a little more than a breeze here--we got about 1/3 inch of rain--not enough to water the grass. I may have to run the sprinklers tomorrow.
The only loss here was a couple dozen pecans knocked off the trees.
Lazz, you may get more rain than we did as it makes it's way out. _________________ Skeet

We got a good bit of rain last night. I haven't looked at the forecast yet but we are supposed to get a good bit tomorrow or Wednesday as well. |

I received twelve full inches of rain from Fay when she passed me by slightly to the north. Had wind gusts to maybe forty for about an hour or so, but that was as big as it got. My formerly dry pond filled to about the level that hurricane Frances brought it to back in '04.
Funny thing is that that after Fay passed I didn't get another drop of rain until yesterday evening when hurricane Ike way off in the central Gulf dropped some on us as he churns towards Texas.
