Been trying for three months now Root a Eureka Lemon and Navel Cutting. Use Rooting Hormone, Perlite Peet Soil mixture, Lunch Bag over small pots, i removed the Lunch Bags 1 month ago. The E Lemon had new Flower Buds forming, i removed them to focus on the Roots. Once i removed the Buds it sure dosen't look to good after i did that! The Navel seems to do nothing, still Green Stem. I managed to keep the soil above 70 at night. Move them outdoors with the 80 degree MI daytime temps with morning Sun. Why is it so difficult to Root Citrus Cuttings!!

Lemon is one of the easiest citrus to root. Sweet orange cuttings could take some more time, even in favorable environmental conditions. Rooting powder helps speeding up the whole process by stimulating callus and root development at the base of the cuttings. As long as the stem is green, the cutting is still alive. Most likely it just hasn't formed any roots yet. Remember, good things come to those who wait. Don't write them off that quick. Very Happy

Best,
Igor

I once had a very small Procimquat cutting I stuck into a pot. It was in there for most part of a year. I never covered the pot with a plastic bag. The stem and the leaves of the Procimquat remained green, and they looked rather healthy, but it never developed any roots. Finally I discarded it. - Millet
