Above are Monte's recommendations for the number of times to fertilize an outdoor in ground tree in the state of Texas.
Below is the state of Florida's recommendations for fertilizing outdoor trees planted in the ground. The difference must have to do with amount of rain between the two states.
1 year tree - 6 times
2 yr. tree - 5 times
3 yr. tree - 4 times
4 yr tree - 3 times
5+ yr. old tree - 3 times. - Millet |

Alternately one could leverage a quality slow release product and save themselves some hassle. My in-ground trees get 5.2lbs of Harrell's 13-4-9 w CALCIUM NITRATE (label attached) split into to two applications of 3.9lbs on March 1 and another 1.3lbs on May 1st.
Best,

Kentucky Bourbon - It may not solve the problem but it helps to make it tolerable! |

Thanks I need to find an afforadble fertilizer program. I used the fertilome Citrus (6-4-6 I think) with Micro nutrients for the first fertilization and plan to use 10-10-10 for the rest of the season unless I fine something local that is better. _________________ Charles in Pensacola
