In the winter of 2009/2010 my Thornless Mexican Lime froze to the ground.
It did sprout two very small shoots in July of 2010 that died within a week of emerging. Over the next year. I did try to dig it out a time or two but I would find a green root or two. So I just left the stump.

So look what shows up this July 2011 after a year and half of being frozen to the ground.

That must have been an awesome feeling to find it regrowing. I hope it grows back even stronger and more cold resistant than before Smile

Cool! The only thing hat would concern me is whether it is the actual lime or the rootstock???

Congrats! I know how it feels since I had 5 citrus recover from last year's freeze, including a Mexican lime.

This will be an interesting winter again since La Nina is forming, but is not supposed to be as strong as last year's.

If I recall correctly the lime is on its own roots.
