i plan to plant in ground kumquat in 10 days. It is tree 5 years old. The problem is i am not going to be there to irrigate it all the time. Does it need more water than other citrus, what is your experience with kumquat-

Kumquats generally thrive in climates with an average annual rainfall of 1100-1500 mm. (43 to 59 Inches) If I was you, I wouldn't let them out without keeping an eye on the weather and having someone to water them in case of drought...
