I have never grown Ponderosa lemons before. A guy brought over some lemons he grows in the ground here & said they were Ponderosa lemons. From all Ponderosa lemons I have seen, they are rounded on the bottom & have no nipple.

These have a nipple & from what I know, Ponderosa is not hardy at all. We can not grow most true lemons here in the ground. This one he said has been growing in his yard with no protection for over 10 years. Shocked

What is it?

Hmm, looks like it has Citron in its genetics. Did you cut it in half to see how the seeds look? Very interesting! Wonder if it's a seedling cross between a lemon and a ???

All Pondarosa I saw so far had no nipple at all and looked like a pear shaped Pumelo.

Mine is same and now I see a totally lemon like from Laaz and with a small nipple from Hershell ...

I always heard that there are different sorts, but there seam to be even a lot ...
