Hi Ivica,

what about Trifolis? Bernhard Voss says it tastes nice -nearly like common grapefruit. It seems -like Citsuma "Prague" to be an old Soviet creation. Rolling Eyes

Surprised I guess that "Hi" is for ilyaC, not for me. (I know nothing about Trifolis.)

Hi Robert,

Did you get your hands on the Trifolis? BTW, how are the Zitrustage this year? 3rd year or so in a row that I can't attend...

Cheers, christian.

I ate a Dunstan like a grapefruit and just sprinkled some sugar on it and I thought it was fine. I grew up in FL, and I remember Grandpa always ate half a grapefruit for breakfast, and they were just plain bitter; that's what makes it taste like grapefruit. Very Happy

Bitter, that's how I remember the taste of grapefruit when I was young! And I liked it! Very Happy
That's probably why I like the bitterness of seville oranges also! Smile

Citradia,
Moderate bitter taste could be even pleasant; my question to Laaz was more on the presence of internal oil vesicles and nasty off-flavors.

Roberto,
I wonder if Andy Voss tasted Trifolis personally?
It is rare to find in Europe the first hand witness of hardy citrus taste.
The web is full of overoptimistic cross-citations.
Also, these hybrids are different from season to season; I had a manageable taste of Swingle5Stars one year, but last year it was partially unripe and awful.

I am not sure. It looks like a Citrumelo. So it could just be a selection with nice fruit-quality. Bernhard Voss should know more.
