I remember myself peacefully eating a taco on UH campus and a squirrel standing in front of me and demanding that taco! After reading in it's eyes "give me THAT or I will eat YOU" I gave up and tossed what was left from my lunch to the animal. It ate the whole thing including couple pieces of fried chicken...
Sylvain, gray squirrels are more like rats. They are nothing like the European orange squirrels! |
If you have a piece of equipment that has exposed wires they will ruin your day by sharpening their teeth on the insulation. If your lucky it just won't work when you need it. Unlucky the wire shorts and burns up the electrical or really unlucky, it burns up your whole machine. Rats the squirrel's first cousin does most of the damage but the squirrel is no friend and as others have stated, one bite move to the
next fruit. _________________ Charles in Pensacola

I hate those tree rats!! Years ago they ate a hole in my soffit & nested in joists above my kitchen till I evicted them. They eat apples, figs, citrus & anythiong they can fit in their mouths... then leave them on the ground.
The past 2 1/2 summers I trapped & drowned 120 squirrels, 31 raccoons & 14 possum in my moderately small backyard. This is a highly populated area too.
Loved that video LOL...saw it couple yrs ago...still funny. _________________ Patty

Now I am going to have to find a way to delete my account here. This is just too much. |

Living on a farm, in open wheat country, with very little trees around, I have seen exactly 1 squirrel in 26 years. I remember the day. Later that same afternoon I found the squirrel dead on the drive way, killed by the dog. Where the squirrel came from I have no idea. - Millet (647-) |

That was a talented dog Millet. That's every dog's dream ... to catch a squirrel LOL.
Here's a link to another thread about critters that was very popular.

Ah yes the tree rats, Patty and I discussed them on a regular basis, they come onto my deck and eat tomatoes, Hot Peppers, and dig in all the pots, nothing stops them until everything is gone and them they go after my bird feeder, I have no pitty for them!!!! _________________

Bushy tail rats--they can cut, eat, carry off and bury 8 pounds of pecans a day--a real pest! _________________ Skeet
