Just purchased some indian yellow limes from the local asian store.

Is this a true lime or likely to a rangpur variant.

There a somewhat common yellow Indian grown lime called the Indian Sweet Lime. It is grown in the Punjab area of India, where it is locally called Mitha nimbu. I have also heard it called Palestine Lime. The fruit is medium in size and roundish in shape, often with a small nipple. Instead of the pulp having the normal greenish coloration, the pulp is more of a straw-yellow color. - Millet

Thank all.

Millet's descriptiom fits fruit, will try tasting second fruit yo see if sweet.

Fruits were a bit dried out. Very thin tightly adhered skin. Few small seeds in pale yellow odourless flesh.

Yuzuquat, actually the Indian Sweet lime is not all that sweet, and it is certainly not acid. It is called a "sweet" lime because it has no acid. To me it taste sort of insipid. - Millet

I grew a tree from seed, and it did fruit in 3 years. I like it but I have never met many citrus that I didn't. Millet is spot on with his description and I just consider it a mild lime.
