Good job. Depending on where you are in MS, you may not need any protection for either of those.

the temps here gets below 20 degrees often and in the teen in rare years....lol....1989 7 degrees, 2009 13 degrees and 2010 15 degrees

I recently had 2 men who saw my trees in the front...... they ask why my small trees have more fruit ....their tree is 5 to 6 years old and over 20ft tall...they do soil bank them but dont cover them.....and they go dormant like the other trees and they bloom every year but this is the first time they got navels and lemons.....i told them no top protection may be the reason andy helpful things i can tell them.....

We get in the low 20's every year, but rarely drop into the high teens. I don't protect anything in the ground & have nice crops every year.

Good job on the greenhouse. That should work well for you. Looks like it has already paid off for you by seeing all the good looking fruit that you have gathered. Thanks for the update. I have less fruit this season probably from the heavy pruning I have to do to keep the trees in the confines of the greenhouse. I need to build a bigger greenhouse in the near future. Best of luck to you. Tim.

What size is your greenhouse?

I'm in Burnaby (next to Vancouver, BC in Canada), but we have very mild winters usually. Only a few nights that go below 0C or 32F and most days are above freezing. We had a bad winter 3 years ago (snow in my backyard for 2 months), but that was exceptional. Most winters rarely see the temp drop below -5 to -8C (roughly mid-twenties F).

My citrus collection seems to be happy inside their temporary plastic covered greenhouse patiently waiting for the spring so I can build them their new heavy duty greenhouse with two-ply polycarb, solar powered LED lights and a heated black pond for koi inside to keep them (the citrus) company Very Happy

How long have you had your citrus covered?

Thanks,

Anthony
