I was just wondering if Page mandarin would likely ripen in my microclimate in Northern California (Novato, just south of the Sonoma border). In the summers our days are usually in the low-mid 80s, although not uncommonly going higher, and nights in the mid 50s. I get satsumas and kishus to ripen here, but wasn't sure if Page had a higher heat requirement. Thanks.

Brett,

Yes. Fruit quality should be good, as long as the tree isn't too young. We just won't be able to match what can be grown further south.

The few fruit I've had mature have been tasty, but production has been limited because my tree fought off a severe bout of gummosis a couple of years ago. Recovery has been slow. This past spring I moved it into CHC's. Should have done that two or so years ago. The fruit that set is from the June flush, if I remember correctly. Most are about golf ball size now. It's also flushing new growth at the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing how this year's meager crop turns out.
