Hey!

I almost choked on my lunch when I saw our friends from Ty Ty advertising on this web site. I am certain Lazz is not responsible for selecting the advertisers, but it really seems like a slap in the face to this group.

I also noticed the advertisers changed as I wrote this. Seems like they vary, but Ty Ty was there, I clicked on the link to check it out and it took me directly to their website.

I've seen Ty Ty advertise in many other credible public forums. That's one of the nuances we have to bear for the free forum software and the free hosting.

One alternative is we pay to forumup some annual amount to have the website free from commercial advertisers. I'm not sure if it will also affect on how the paid website would be indexed by the search engines.

Ned, this was brought up in another thread a month or so ago. Ty-Ty's advertisements have been on the forum for some time now. -Millet (1,355-)

Unfortunately there is nothing I c an do with the free advertisement other that pay for the forum which can get quite expensive depending on bandwidth usage. Most people here know better than to deal with ty ty unless they like getting scammed... Too bad the revues of them have been removed from www.gardenwatchdog.com . They are the east coast version or growquest... http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/3143/ Laughing

Thanks all. I am not to sure if I missed the previous thread or can just caulk it up to a bad memory! Does seem like I remember something about it being brought up before.

the main problem turtleman is that there is no freebie method to migrate all the postings from this site unto another, unless you have an extractor that can crawl from each subforum and then a database to rebuild the extracted contents. You should also ask permission from each poster to migrate such information.

if there were, I would have extracted all the postings here in a heartbeat and find suitable host elsewhere. so I did not even suggest that idea.

That is the problem. It would take forever to transfer all the post and user information to a new forum. I have a full time job and do this as a hobby. Some nights I get home in the summer I don't have any energy to do anything after a day out in 90 + F and 100% humidity.

I thank you for doing a great job Lazz, and I am sure my sentiments apply to everyone else that frequents this forum! I think we all share in the "fruits" of your efforts, and are very much appreciative of your work.
