I have a variegated calamondin right up front on my driveway. I does a couple of things for me.

1. Makes a real nice looking plant in the landscape.
2. Since it's sour, the walkers only steal a few and leave the rest of my stuff alone.
3. Really like it squeezed on my fish dishes.

I class it into my extra group.(Grow it if you have the extra space).

I wish I could grow every type of citrus but unfortunately, I have limited space and I cant justify some cultivars. I would like to try a fruit sometime though.

I use 3 Calamondin fruit when I make a batch of fruit smoothie and these give the smoothie a very citrusy, refreshing taste. Mmmmmm.

As for eating fresh, not a big fan. Japanese or Chinese kumquats are far superior for eating fresh.
