Skeet, we don't have that frost blanket offered here at any of the home depot stores except for the pipes and water tanks. The floating row cover would be much better to get, but I don't want to pay exhorbitant shipping and handling fees. If you have the SKU number I could ask from our local HD for those items. |

I will be going by there today--I will get you the info. I will probably go ahead and get another one myself.
I just did a search on the web and found a similar produce on Ebay-- it is only $5 and in Chula Vista, CA. It is listed as a "plant protection blanket". It is only 25 ft long, but I cut mine into pieces anyway.

Joe, I was not able to get another package--they were out-- I think the recent cold spell caused a run on the stuff-- but I did get the numbers above and below the barcode-- I don't know which one you need --so here is the top code: E 323-963 s
and below the barcode: 0 1388700737 6
They still had the rolls-- 300 ft x 5 ft for $97.
As for the cold spell-- that's gone too--now we have a forecast of 70s for at least the next 5 days-- lows in the 50s.

Thanks for the info. Will check those out. I have ordered the Frost Protection Blankets from eBay. I can experiment with these. I also have a roll of lightweight burlap, they cost $10 for a 3' x 60' roll. I have plenty to go around in case of emergency.
I'd prefer a green color from the one from eBay, I might dye them out. My aim is to have the plants go dormant in the presence of sunlight. Just bare enough light to keep the leaves green but not active so as to have chilling injury when we get daytime chilly air. |

HD also had some sun shade cloth that blocks about 75% of the sun-- I don't remember that exact size, but I think it was about 6 x 12 or 6 x15 and was about $30.

I got mine for $30 and the size is 6' x 20'. So I will try what works out best. One thing nice about this patio sun shade is that it is mildew resistant and guaranteed for 15 years. |
