Today I obtained my first Adenium, A. obesum. I have also just obtained Plumeria cuttings and I am in the process of rooting them.

These two are in the same family (Apocynaceae) and apparently have similar requirements as to growing media...very quick drainage. Cold and damp root conditions are not to their liking. Many recommend a mix with a high percentage of perlite or gravel.

Has anyone tried a CHC-based mix for these plants? I have used a 1:1:1:1 mix of Promix:CHC:turkey grit:rotted manure with great success on different plants like Sanseveria and Crassula, so that was one thought. Also, I was thinking about CHC:Perlite:grit:manure at 2:1:1:1, something like that.

Feedback on this little experiment is welcome!
