Hi,

Just wondering, what is the ideal amount of sunlight for a variegated Meyer and would it be better off in a shady place?

As per my thread in the container section, I have a 4 yo variegated Meyer Lemon in a large pot, which is watered regularly (survived 2 weeks of temperatures well above 100F), has good drainage and is well fertilised, though belatedly as I forgot to give it a feed until late Spring. It is located next to a west facing fence and receives about 8 hours afternoon sun from Spring to Autumn.

It has flowered in Spring, dropped all fruit in recent hot weather but has had no new leaves at all, since about a year ago! This variegated plant has always had sparse foliage and during the recent heat wave, it has dropped most of it leaves; it only has 6 left!

Should I move it to shadier place? Any other suggestions?

Apologies for duplicated thread...

Variegated plants always do better in partial shade.
