Thanks, Laaz. I need to get up to Gene's place. He's invited me, and if I can get up to Bakersfield to my sister-in-law's, which is almost exactly a half way spot, I might be able to make the trip. Just to see his trees if for nothing else, and of course, to meet and chat with Gene. What an extremely interesting person he is.

After I was working at the winter Olympics in Vancouver three years ago, I had a trip fully arranged to stay with Gene.
Instead, a fall and broken shoulder got me sent home and I never made it.
Something I had been really looking forward to, and now not very likely to ever happen. Sad
