If that tree is 35 years old you have found a jewel!

I saw where someone in GA had submitted a citrus (grapefruit I think) as a Champion tree for the state. Maybe this one will be the SC "Champion" grapefruit tree.

I noticed that when I typed the words "grapefruit" and "citrus" into the search by tree name the data base found nothing. So there must not be a SC champion tree of any variety of citrus. It might be fun to measure the Summerville tree and Mr. Croxton's tree and submit the largest tree for inclusion in the Champion tree. With no citrus in the records, one of them would automatically be the champion untill a larger entry was found. - Millet

Yes, I am pretty sure we can have a state champion grapefruit by just entering. There is a tree or two in Beaufort that would also be a canidates.
