This happened today down in Ned's neck of the woods. The Southeast Palm meeting was held down there today as well.

A very sad event. Unfortunately, the pilot was killed. It is fortunate that no one else seems to have been injured. I worked at the Air Station for 25 years as a firefighter and have seen the air shows many times.

The Palm Association meeting went very well. Spent the day with lot of good friends, including Stan. Met many new friends, had a plant sale, visited 4 outstanding gardens, and many of the group finished the day with a visit to Hunting Island State Park, where there are many palms. Stan called after he left for home and said he had been delayed around the Marine Cops Air Station because of the crash.

This is soooo sad. I love the Blue Angels. They perform over our lakefront every year & I watch them from my backyard. i have a leather jacket that I ordered with (4 choices) Air Force, & got Army patch but what the heck. I love jets, & to see these guys perform is more than awesome. I screem when they go by,,,sometimes they are upside down & I can see the pilots faces as they go over my house!
This is such a tragedy. Hate to see this happen.

According to the news last night, the pilot that was killed was a new member of the team, and was flying in his very first air show. - Millet

Pensacola is the home of the Blue Angels-- I saw them practicing last week. That mush have been why I saw flags at half mast yeaterday. We get 2 shows a year here--one on the weekend near the 4th of July and one at the end of the season when they do the homecoming show at the base. They are very popular here and everyone will be sad.

Skeet, the flags are at half staff here in Colorado, but the reason is because of the shootings at Virginia Tech. Probably the same in your area. - Millet
