i donot have pictures of the fruit my air layers have not fruited yet but they are flowering pretty good right now so hopeing to get fruit this year and i never took pictures of the fruit on the tree i got the air layers from and the tree is now gone thats why i got the air layers. the fruit tastes, smells and has the flesh and skinn resembling what we call key lime but the fruit is oval almost football shaped. i did get some pics of one open flower some of the unopened flowers and leaves. i donot recall the flowers of the key lime to be as big as these are. don't recall the pink color to the outside of the bloom on keylime so it must be some sort of hybrid i was once told it could just be seedling Variation. hopefully i got the right link from photobucket and thats an accepted pic host

With the pink / violet flower buds I would say you have some type of lemon or lemon hybrid. I have never seen a lime that produces pink flower buds.

the flowers do look like most of the lemons i have seen too just not as dark. the leaves have a destinctive lime smell to them and the fruit that i had originally got off the tree smelled like lime also. its true that i was not able to see the fruit in its full ripe stage the tree was riped out real soon after i took the air layers off. i wonder if it might be a lemon lime cross of some sort i would think lemon would overpower lime in the genetics but i guess i will have to wait till the fruit ripens if it holds any fruit we had an unusually long and cold winter so the insects are not coming round as fast as they normally do so i may have to hand pollinate to try and get the fruit to hold. the original plant was only about 4 feet tall but it was in a veryshady spot so not sure how big it would actually get. i need to graft pieces to something else before i plant this one in the ground so i donot loose it. i am not sure if i should plant this one in the ground its an air layer so might need to graft it than leave this one in a pot and plant the grafted one. donot have anything for rootstock right now i need to get cuttings going of a sucker rootstock piece coming from my wekiewa i also have a seedling poncirus trifolate but it takes forever to break dormancy so will probably be some time before i graft it.

What about Rangpur Lime, it has clustered pink flower buds, lemon/ lime type foliage, and green lime like fruit that ripen to orange, about golf ball size.

A limequat has the right fruit shape but I don't think the leaves and flowers look the same.

none of the blooms set fruit i have a citrus less than 4 feet away that has little fruitlets all over it i even saw the little green native bees all over this plant i even pollinated several of the blooms by hand and nothing after all the blooms fell off i transplanted it into a bigger pot and it did just start producing flowers on one of the lower branches but i am not to hopefull it will set any fruit.
