As I am always willing to try new things, I came across this odd looking fruit in the produce dept. It actually tasted very good! Has anyone grown this? I checked online & it did mention that they are seedless. I did find about a dozen little tiny maybe seeds in it. They were about the size of basil seeds. Do you think they are seeds? Vinny

I'm not 100% sure but I think that those are un formed seeds as I tend to find a lot in citrus I get, grapefruits, seville oranges and blood oranges. I imagine that most citrus seeds are at least quater of a dime in size but don't quote me on that. Also Ugli fruit don't come true to type as they are mono ebryonic but more information on them, and tangelos, can be found at www.hort-purdue.edu . Maybe there is better sites out there but this is all I know so please correct me if I am wrong,
Sincerely,
James

James, Thanks for the input. They do look too small to be seeds. I'm still going to plant them & see what happens. Regards, Vinny

Someone on Gardenweb was asking about this. Uglis are hybrid and wont come true from seed. Doesnt mean it wont be fun growing SOMETHING, but wont be true to type.

If you would like the seeds there are available at Trade Winds Fruit, and Garnetmoth is correct they are monoembryonic and most likley will not come true to type, at least from what I've read.
