I bought a portable dehumidifier to remove some water vapor from this very humid air in my home. The inside temperature is 85F and the dew point temperature is 75F and feels like 91F inside. Outside it is 73F and feels much cooler. It feels really warm and humid in this place and this just from sitting and yet I am used to very warm humid air. I think someone from the northern part of USA not accustomed to this indoor air mass would be very uncomfortable with heavy perspiration from just sitting because there are no ceiling fans and the air is not even circulated.

When my family came to visit in February the temperature inside was only 78 and they thought it was way too warm so I turned the thermostat down to 72F- I keep it set high because I am used to very warm temperatures. The AC was working then. Now it feels a lot warmer and yet the temperature is only 7F higher.

I bought a 70 pint dehumidifier because the AC is seized and fried. IT is gone for some time until I can replace some parts. Anyone have experience using dehumidifier? I will increase the temperature some but hopefully dry the air and lower the humidity to 20 percent or lower.

I can get used to very warm humid indoor air with temperatures in the 82F to 87F range with 70 percent humidity but concerned with mold and mildew problems.
