The first flock of Sandhill Cranes heading south for the winter flew over the farm today. For the next week or so, thousands of birds will fly over our farm every day. They can be heard for long distance as they pass. This migration happens every year at about this time. In the Spring, they must take a route east of us as we never see them on their return northern migration. - Milt (472-)

That is because they get lost and circle over our farm.
