Hi all,

I purchased a 1 gal improved Meyer Lemon about 5 or 6 weeks ago but haven't seen any new growth. I checked the roots as soon as I bought it and they were starting to circle the pot so I potted up by 2 in. as I've seen recommended here. It had a few leaves yellow and fall off about 2 weeks after I repotted (although that may have been due to me leaving it inside for a week while I was gone on vacation) but since then I haven't had any yellow or unhealthy looking leaves.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how long it would take to see a flush of new growth. I've held off on fertilizing and am wondering if I should fertilize now also?

Thanks.

This is summer, and the weather is warm. Now is the time of year to obtain much of the growth possible by your tree. This is the exact time that you should be fertilizing citrus. Especially a Meyer Lemon. Fertilizing once a month as a bear minimum- Millet

Your tree is probably sending out new roots. Once those get started you should get a flush of growth.

An update on my Meyer:

I've been fertilizing as per Millet's suggestion and am finally starting to see a number of new buds breaking! Thanks again to Millet and SusanB for the information. I am unfortunately in an apartment for a few more months and I think it may not be getting as much light as it would like (indirect light all day and full sun for about 4-5 hours or so) which may also be contributing to the slower growth, but it's the best I can do for now. Hopefully I can get some decent growth before I need to bring it inside from the cold.

The new growth is coming along pretty well. There are a number of new leaves coming out, like the picture below.

It is starting to put out flower buds as well.

Because this plant is still young, I'd like to get as much growth as possible. I will most likely be plucking off any fruit that forms but is there any harm in letting it flower?
