Well Ugli to be precise...I think.
I bought the supposed Clementine when it was a yellow leaved sick clearance bin reject at a poorly trading gardencenter. The label had clementine $5.00 in felt pen and nothing else.
Now "clementine" is green and healthy with 1 branch with deep green 4 inch wide squattish/round fruit with some heavy ridges running through them.
I have looked at every citrus pic I can see on the net and the only ones that look similar are Ugli. I know I will have to wait until they ripen and cross check with the ones in the shops but I was hoping for a Clementine as I have since bought an Ugli tree from another gardencenter also at clearance.
The trouble is Ugli grown in NZ evidently has a rather acid flavor compared to imported ones.
And I don't want two if they are like that.

Here in the untropical UK my Ugli never has very big or very ugly fruits, but they are reasonably sweet.
There are a few pictures at

Are the New Zealand Ugli's of the same parentage as the trademarked and deformed Ugli's? The CCPP offers only one Ugli and cites it's source as New Zealand. The USDA has several sources of Ugli and their notes on whether there is a true difference between the varities is confusing.

Has anyone grown an Ugli from the CCPP budwood and did the fruit deliver the large deformed fruits of the original?
