In answer to your Private Message as what to do as a pretreatment to your CHC. As you purchased your CHC from The Chrystal Company, the chips that you will receive have already be washed and squeezed "dry" three times. Therefore, many, but not all, of the unwanted salts, and chlorides have already been leached from the chips. Soak them over night one more time, and drain all the water away, and rinse. Then soak the chips over night in a solution of Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salts) and Calcium Nitrate. This last soaking with the two chemicals will finish removing all the rest of the unwanted salts through the process of Cation Exchange, and will start your chips off with a good supply of magnesium, calcium and nitrogen. Now you are ready to use the chips. The Cation Exchange solution is made by dissolving 1 tablespoon of each chemical per 5-gallons WARM WATER. You will need the warm water so that the Epsom Salts will dissolve. Epsom Salts, does not dissolve very well in cold water. After the chemicals have dissolved, it does not matter if the solution cools down during the Cation Exchange soak. When transplanting your tree from the present container into the CHC remove as much of the old medium as possible, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF DAMAGING THE ROOT SYSTEM. Spread the roots out evenly around the container when putting them in the CHC medium. Be careful to damage the roots as least as possible. The following link explains the Cation Exchange process for CHC and orchid culture. The process is exactly the same for citrus. Good luck. If you have any further question just ask. Nice having you as a member of this forum.
