My only complaint about this info is that most of the late season cultivars of sweet oranges have not been released in the CCPP budwood program. Later season seemed to be sweeter for us here in the northern California.

Joe, that Red Valencia, is a VERY ornamental fruit. A Red Valencia tree with a full crop of fruit would be very exciting to look at. Thanks for the web site. I have bookmarket it. - Millet

You're welcome Millet. I actually posted that link three years ago in gardenweb, now that post was long deleted, but found it by reading my pdf files.

I do have Red Valencia budded unto Cara-cara. The buds were grafted late summer and they are still green but dormant. Have tried pushing them out earlier to no avail. Perhaps this spring time they will sprout with a vengeance.

There are two Red Valencias if you google for them, one is the Rohde Red Valencia (VI 487) and the other is Smith Red Valencia (VI 647), both are offered in the UCR budwood programs. Naturally, both are grafted unto my pigmented orange tree. It seems that the navel types of blood oranges are vigorous when grafted to my moro compared to the valencias.
