Hi all,
I have some key lime plants I grew from seed last September. I planted 26 seeds. They had been sent in the post and were dry when received. To my surprise, all 26 sprouted within 3 days in my heated propagator. Only about 22 have made it to the size they are now. Its far too many for me to keep with my other citrus. I wanted to sell 20 of them on ebay when they are a year or so old. Any idea if this is the best way to sell them? _________________ I have walked worlds of smoke, and half truths intangible. You could sell them or trade them with others in your area. Just remember that you can not ship citrus plants to most countries that produce citrus.
BTW Key limes will produce fruit in their second year if you keep them happy. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I was planning on UK shipping only...I want others in this murky cloudy country to enjoy growing citrus I don't have the space for 2 years of storage so planned to sell them the end of summer _________________ I have walked worlds of smoke, and half truths intangible. Ebay or a site like this is probably the only place to easily sell them, unless you want to go to car boot sales,
But the selling costs on ebay have gone up a lot recently, something like 10% of the final price plus listing fees, paypal fees etc
The prices for citrus on ebay seem to be widely variable , but for seed grown plants unless they are fruiting people may not buy them, non grafted plants do not seem to sell or go for very low price.
Prices over here, fruiting grafted plants for about 15 - 30 pounds ,
and seed grown non fruiting 2 year old citrus sem to be about 2 to 5 pounds, unless trifolate rootstock when they charge more like 15 pounds for a 2 year old one. |

car boot...didn't think of that! I might wait longer, find somewhere for them, and sell them at car boot. Got a load of other rubbish I'll want rid of when I move anyway lol _________________ I have walked worlds of smoke, and half truths intangible. Worlds of torment...and of unnameable beauty. Lol I think they are the equivalent to yard sales in the states. We don't actually open the boot of the car and sell from it. The car just carries stuff and we have tables to sell stuff. A bit hit and miss lol but can be good fun _________________ I have walked worlds of smoke, and half truths intangible. Worlds of torment...and of unnameable beauty.
