http://users.kymp.net/citruspages/citrons.html#diamante

I got few seeds of this variety of citrus from Italy and they were from someone who is not so "citruholic" so I have few or none info on:

1 does this grow "true to seed" ?
2 does it taste good ? (if anybody know)
3 any special requiremets in pots ?

thanks,
Daniel

Most citrons come true to type or very close.

Regarding seeds, interesting info about differentiating acidic & sweet varieties:
"Most citron varieties contain a large number of monoembryonic seeds. They are white, with dark innercoats and red-purplish chalazal spots for the acidic varieties, and colorless for the sweet ones. "
And more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citron

Diamante citron from Italy is acidic variety, so your seeds should have "red-purplish chalazal spots".

Talking about special requirements, "fragile and extremely sensitive to frost".

"The citron tree is very vigorous with almost no dormancy, blooming several times a year, and is therefore fragile and extremely sensitive to frost.[8]" (it is also from article linked above)

I grew the Diamante before from seed, don't remember if it was mono or not. It took 3 years to produce fruit & they were almost identical to the photos. Didn't care at all for the fruit, so I tossed it. If I remember correctly the seed came from citrus Joe, which he got from a friend at UCR.
