This is just a few of the little flying pests that eat my figs and pears. There are so many of the Texas state bird around that I rarely see any other birds except for humming birds and doves. Yadda out.

Nice crop of mocking birds. My dad always said that you have to plant one tree for the birds and one for yourself.
I love them but their eating habits are really bad. They will peck one fruit and fly away. When they return they choose another fruit and peck away. I sure would feel better if they finished one fruit before tasting another.
Like you, I would surely miss them if there were none around the yard.

I have one fig that is over 12 feet tall and easily as wide. I have covered it in the past with bird netting, but it is not fool proof. The mocking birds still found a way in. The smaller trees in pots I cover a few of the individual fruit. Too many trees and not enough time. Yadda out.
