I dug up a what is probably a myer dwarf lemont tree, and transplanted it in my yard. The roots werent too bad, the main was hurt but not cut off. I planted it in my yard. The guy who dug it up for me (very experienced) reccomended that I water three times a day. The drainage in the soil seems ok.

So I started watering 2-3 times a day flooding the tree the tree seemed to do real good after watering. Then about four days later the tree leaves became wiled and many are taking on a yellowish color. Seems like too much water...

The problem: after I watered for a week it has begun to rain heavy and the weather report says the rain will go on for a week. Is there anything I should try to save my tree? Maybe replant? Maybe cover? HELP!

If the rain will persist for another week and it is already stressed from overwatering, I think the only thing you can do is take it up and try to hold it in a container with very coarse media like pure pine bark chunks until the rain stops-- then replant, but don't water again until the soil is dry at least an inch or 2.

Where are you?
