Last week I purchased my first two ever citrus trees from a local nursery. There were alot of trees on site but, not a great variety of citrus. They had plenty of the Miho Satsumas and the Meyers along with some grapefruit trees. They were all priced at $19.95 each so, I decided to bring the Meyer Lemon and the Satsuma only, for now.

The Meyer has 8 lemons on the tree so, I built a sort of support/dolly, no wheels yet, for the tree. A closer look at the leaves shows some yellowing. Is there something I need or should do during the fall and winter to try and correct this. Also, it appears obvious that the tree is just not strong enough to support the weight of the lemons now and possibly during the next growing season. It will eventually go into the ground but, will it be ok to leave it in the same pot for another year or more or, do I need to repot to a bigger size when the lemons come off?

The Miho Satsuma will also go into the ground eventually.

Freddy,

I'm jealous! Your buying and I'm still planning. Maybe this Spring. As I told you I'm no expert not even a good amateur but I would check to see the root condition and the mix the tree is planted in. Make sure it is right for your area and that it doesn't need to be upsized. Good luck!
