My life is getting tuned upside down due to the tough economy. It's on the verge of total collapse and I may be starting over from scratch soon. I hope it doesn't come to it, but I may have to move. This isn't too big of a deal but I don't want to loose my trees. I can't take them all, so I was wondering it I could graft several varieties on to an existing dwarf tree to take has much with me as I can. How realistic is and many varieties can I expect a tree to support for later bud woodwood usage? I can easily replace the Meyer, MK Valencia, Mexican Lime and Moro but these are the trees I'll likely won't move. I torn about my Pink Lemonade tree. A Cara Cara is also on the chopping block and it's developed a very nice variegated sport. A W. Murcott and four Four Winds Trees are also in the stable. These include a Sanguinelli Blood, A Varigiegated Calamondin, Clementine and Kaffir Lime.

So I need a way to keep has many trees has I can while keeping my bulk down. I'll also be taking other plants and some young seedlings. I sure hope it doesn't come to this but two or trees may be all I can take. I could also be moving to either Florida or Texas since I have family in those states. We shall see.

You can not bring citrus trees into TX or FL from another state. Both states have their own citrus programs.

Will if you do cleft grafting then the limiting factor would be the number of branches. This spring I did some grafting onto a small Meyer lemon I stopped adding for two reasons, the temp was getting too high and the suitable branch limitation.

No, I won't be bringing them if I have to move out of state, but the odds I get stuck in an apartment here are rising. Hopefully, none of this happens, things just aren't looking good right now.
