It is at the boundary of 7/8. I want some pollen from a plant there, it's a 70 mile drive (though Sconyers BBQ is part of the reward too), and I have no flowering trifoliate here to guide me as to when.

And about how long will it flower?

Trifoliate flowers later than most citrus. Here in Charleston it flowers in mid - late April & May.

I have a old Flying Dragon in a pot, and I noticed it is starting to bloom now. There are some in-ground trees near Stan, and I would guess those would bloom near the same time as the ones in Augusta. Location (sun, shade, etc.) might cause the bloom period to vary, even at the same location. I have never tried this, but you might be able to cut some limbs and keep them in a vase until they bloom.

Hey Ned. You have FD flowering now ? Mine are in direct sun, inground & have not even started to bud out yet... I'm a half to a zone warmer than Stan...

Now my Meyers, lemons, navels, Key limes, Grapefruit are all blooming now...

My Flying Dragon is about four years old, three feet tall, a rooted cutting, planted in a 25 gal. or so tub, and kept outdoors all year in Southern California. It began putting out new growth and lots of buds in early March. This is its first year to bloom, so I don't know if this is the typical time of year for buds here.

I have both the flying dragon and the regular trifoliate. The regular trifoliate is much more advanced as far as blooming is concerned. It has flowers that are just about ready to open, the FD on the other hand has bloom buds but they are still a tight little bud that looks to be a couple of weeks away from flowering. My satsumas have flower buds visible but this cold weather is holding them back. They usually bloom around the first of April.. I think they will be at least a week late this year.
