Here is Whittaker' Gold grapefruit. It comes from the Texas Valley(south Texas). Lots of seeds but I don't mind as I juice grapefruit, bright orange like Tang. Very unusual grapefruit. It is the grapefruit for people who don't like grapefruit as it is very mild tasting. Actually it is on the insipid side. It is a very early one. It gets good to eat in mid November. I have a tree about 6 years old and have several dozen fruit this year. This tree is sold in Houston Master gardener's citrus tree sales in the the spring. I've spread this cultivar to Georgia as I sold one the a guy named Tom McClendon of St Mary's. My favorite grapefruit is still good old seedy white Duncan grapefruit.

Mine too.It is a shame that we can't get a seedless variety with the quality of Duncan.

My Mato buntan pummelo have a flesh like that of MrTexas Whittaker's Gold grapefruit. I consumed them last year before their prime because of the arctic blast. Quite insipid but giving it a couple more chances before they will be grafted over. My Marsh, Duncan, and others hasn't produced yet, they are in my 61-n-1 citrus tree. I believe a nice bloom is coming if the mild winter prediction from La Nina holds true.

Do you have enough to give me a branch Joe on your Duncan?
But first will the taste be affected on my climate here?
