My Nagami seemed to drop a lot of leaves over the past few weeks, too, but now the leaf drop has slowed and I have a small flush of blooms. SB |

Bought my Meiwa last Sept - Oct & it had fruits on it. Ate the last fruit couple weeks ago and it too has been dropping leaves. Most are gone. No new growth |

Be sure to keep kumquats warm, they like a lot of heat. Despite their ability to survive quite low temperatures, kumquat trees grow a lot better and produce more, larger, and sweeter fruits in warmer conditions. They really like long and hot summers (85 to 100F). Grow them like you would grow grapefruit. - Millet |

Thanks Millet! Weve had 2 days about 80 degrees, opened windows, but its been highs 40-50s this week to pay for it. Ive taken some FDs outside for the year, but the fruiting trees will remain indoors till lows in the 50's. They will probably spend their first few weeks on the porch-sidewalk with some cinder blocks around for extra heat retention. |

My meiwa stopped dropping leaves & started putting out new flushes & blossoms 2-3 weeks ago. Now the new growth died off & more leaf drop. I pinched off most blossoms to give more energy to plant. Maybe I should remove all blossoms. The highest temp I can get in there is 70* and down to about 62* nights. Can't wait for summer. |

new growth dropping is so frustrating!! I've had a bit of that myself.. not on the Meiwa. It is still the same no more leaf drop but no new leaves either that is frustrating enough.. but when a plant does get new growth and then drops half of the new growth it is very very frustrating..
Also found ants moved in to the pot of my mandirinquat *GRRRR* of course I didn't realize it until I went to water and out pours a bunch of ants.. I thought I had gotten rid of them well.. I cut them off from the hill outside but they just all moved in to my pot.. Idiot ants even invaded one of my Venus fly trap plants I am going to buy some more bait stations and put them inside this time.. I had been non stop for two weeks hardly having time to blink at the plants mostly only time I had to look was before the ants came out in the am or after they had already went to bed for the night. I only had time to give my babies a sip of water so that didn't run them out of their new home.. and now they are well established.. I carried them to the bath tub and soaked them and now my bathroom is covered in ants!!!!! Haven't found any more scale.. but might be that they are just too small to see yet.. *GGGGRRRRR* Going to step my scale inspection back up again to every other day again.. I want to stay on top of that.
