BTW, the second photo, if you look down in the left hand corner, you'll see a stunted Yuzu. The other 2 I have are growing out like any other seedling. This one has more leaves then the others, and is an inch tall! The stem is on the verge of barking up, but leaves are all very small and stunted. The only difference, which I find interesting, is the stunted yuzu was a un-germinated seed...the others germinated in paper towel. This one was hard headed. It germ. in the pot. The other two that were planted after germination were ok, one of which is the polyembr. one.
I may have a pigmy on my hands! _________________ ♣Gen

Gen- those are neat, thanks for sharing!
I have a 15-leaf tall, maybe 8 inch, one-year old Yuzu seedling. Its the only one that lived from e-bay seeds last winter.
yours is definately the winner for tiny, but not the only one. |

Hi Gen. Over the years I have grown more Yuzu's from seed than probably any other citrus variety. Perhaps, because the Yuzu is such a seedy fruit, therefore, I always have a good supply of seeds to germinate. I also use Yuzu as a rootstock. Both Citrus Joe and I use Yuzu as an understock with results so far so good. About your stunted Yuzu tree, I have often noticed stunting of Yuzu seedlings, it is quite common. I seem to always have several in just about every batch of seedlings, I produce. I do not know the cause of the malfunction, and have never looked into the reason for it. From each batch of Yuzu seedlings, I only select 3 or 4 of the most robust, healthy seedlings, and discard the others to the compost pile. The runts never catch up. - Millet |

Very interresting...I think I'll keep the tiny one though, it's just too cute to get rid of lol.
Thanks garnetmoth for your comments : )

My "runt" is 2 inches. Of seeds planted last yr, only 2 came up & one of those died few months ago. This one branched off into 2 branches for some reason...maybe tip got pinched somehow. The 2 branches are 1 inch with 2 1/2 leaves on each. _________________ Patty
