I checked on the montly temperatures for my town and added all of the daily highs, also the lows. I divided the total by 31 and came up with my average highs and lows for the month. There are 3 days left and I just went with the forecast temps to arrive at my equasion. I would like to hear from other board members as to their Dec. 08 averages and do you think they are warmer or colder than normal? MY score is Daily Highs avg. 62F Daily Low avg: 42F

SE Kansas Average high was 46*F (counting only 27 days) and average low 22*F..
Highest high being 71*F on the 26th and lowest high being 14*F on the 15th... Lowest low being 4*F on the 22nd and highest low being 52*F on the 26th.. Welcome to Kansas Stock market weather!!

Annual Dec averages.. 46*F for Dec high and 25*F for average low...
so we are fairly average..

Record high recorded for month of Dec 78*F and Record Low was -16*F..
so not quite record temps..

Average Low: 39 F

Highest High so far: 72 F
Lowest High so far: 32 F
Highest Low so far: 61 F

Month-to-date rainfall: 4.87 in. (average is 3.82 in)

I think I would be a natural at picking up the Norwegian Language! With words like Kaldest and Varmest.. how could I go wrong!

Our average high was 66.1, low 48.5. The departure from normal was +3.0 degrees on the average temp of 57.3.

The average high and low for the month of December is 62.5/41. Our normal high and low are 66/40. The highest and lowest for the month was 72/33, although at my place it has gotten down to 30. We have had a cool month of december here in my part of California. Many days only had highs in the mid to upper 50's.

I am wondering where everyone is getting the data from that they have used? I got mine from weather.com. I am wondering if anyone has found where to get the normal high and low temperature from wunderground.com for the month. I can only seem to find the normal high and low for each day.

Geeeees, Colorado is colder than Norway... Thanks BabyBlue for doing all my work looking up Colorado's temperatures. Below are Colorado's December, 2008 temperatures.. (No wonder my greenhouse heating bill is so expensive)

I'm surprised to see such a difference between Skeeter and I. My average is up for the month thanks to the 15 days (so far) that we've had high of seventy five or more. Makes it tough to keep the grove citrus in a cold hardened condition. The container citrus love it though and it sure keeps my heating bill in the greenhouse down.

What you see Alan is probably the moderating effect of the water--we are a little cooler on the high side but a little warmer on the low side. It is not uncommon here to see azeleas in bloom further inland before we see them bloom here. I would have thought that we were cooler than normal, but that was probably back in Nov.

How do I find my averages? YOOO HOOO - Gina!!
All I know is we broke records with snow & I'm sure we were below normal temps. 2-3 days we had --8 w/ 40 mph winds & few days later it was 53 & raining! At least it melted some snow down & I was able to find my keys that fell in it last week. All I could do is pray someone would return them or to find them as snow melted. Anyone could find my car w/ the remote & then steel it. Pretty scary!

To Millet: I have to grow mine Citrus in greenhouse to. Cost about 550 $ a year to heat the greenhouse. (15 sq. m.) I think I can buy plenty Orange for the same price?

Kjell K, last year with the high fuel pricing it cost me $4,000.00 to heat my greenhouse. I kept a 60F (16C) night time temperature. My greenhouse is 83 sq. m. I agree, buying citrus from the store would be a lot cheaper. Take care. - Millet
