i want to first say hello as this is my first post, i have been reading for a few months and have gotten alot of good info...
so this is the problem, maybe..
after about a month i have this branch that has come out of the tree and is growing at a very fast rate..
this branch is now as big as the whole tree
let me know what to do guys

The new growth is of the trifoliate rootstock and should be removed so that the plant's energy is channeled towards the cultivar. _________________ Indoor Grower |

thats what i was thinking , how should i go about cutting this ?
any tricks or just cut it at the bottom?

cut it at the trunk base, smooth and with a sharp knife...

Too late now but I would have grafted unto it and the cut portion i would use as interstem for other grafting. |

If you want to try a multigrafted tree as Joe said, you could try it on the next sprout. If you do not want to, you need to remove any growth below the graft line as soon as it emerges. When it first emerges you can rub it off with your finger.
