Seems like in summer all my broccilli have small/tiny heads, anyone know why

Plant physiology. It varies by plants. But generally in vegetables such as the brassicas like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, lettuces, etc., the higher temperature brings rapid maturation and development of flowers. They open quicker and elongate faster too. So you have smaller heads unlike during the fall, late winter to spring when you get bigger heads. If summers are cool, then the head can be larger.

Also, a broccoli plant initially produces one large head, coming out from the central part of the plant. After that head is picked, then the plant produces many additional small size shoots. BTW broccoli, is EXTREMELY high in anti- oxidents. - Millet (1,225-)[/u]
