Hey all,
I purchased a guava plant(about a foot tall) psidium guajava(spelling?). While on vacation several months ago, it dried out and the top seemed dried out. The top has continued to be dry for some time now(the woody part that is). Granted, the indoor conditions its in aren't spectacular(only a couple more months until outdoors!!).

It is a sight for sore eyes. If I planted him in the ground do you think the dry top would eventually grow out, or do you think the best bet is to just propagate a small side shoot? My main concern is that I've officially stunted it to only be able to grow a foot tall.

Thanks for the input,
Steve

Guava are very vigorous. It will produce lateral branches that are very low so don't worry too much. Just let it grow and don't over fertilize. Don't put it in the ground until the soil is warm enough, probably in late April in your location.
