Hi,
I am Bart and I live in Eindhoven, a town in the south of Holland.
I love lemons and other lemon scented plants so I bought myself some citruses, a Citrus Limon (no further specifications given) and a Citrus Limonia Osbeck. The Citrus Limon was potted in heavy clay so to prevent root rot, I removed all the soil from the roots and repotted the plant in special Mediterranean potting soil. This resulted in the plant dropping all its small fruits and further not doing anything, it did not drop a lot of leaves but it did not grow at all either. The Citrus Limonia has performed better, it grew a little this year and started to produce flowers. I recently moved them inside to my living room because of the frost outside. Once inside the Citrus Limonia started flowering spectacularly and the Citrus Limon started to produce flowers and a few leaves as well. Now here is the first question, some flowers and leaves are forming on the end of long thin branches which I think need to be trimmed back, see the pictures below. The branches are about 50 cm (=20 inches) long and have a diameter of no more than 5 mm (=0.2 inches) I am afraid that the branches are too weak to support fruits ore new growth. Should I trim the branches now or should I wait till next spring? or should I not trim the branches at all? I dont want the plant to waist energy growing on the wrong places while the lower branches are bare. Furthermore, will the bare branches on the lower part of the tree grow new leaves next spring? (they where bare when I bought the tree).
Some pictures:
The large plant is the Citrus Limon and the small one is the Lima Rossa.

What are these thicker places on the long thin branches? Are it the places from which a new branch grew? Is it a good idea to cut off the long branches after these thick places?

The Citrus Limon is grafted on what I think is a Citrus Aurantium, there is one branch that originates from below the graft point, can I leave this in place or do I need to remove it in benefit of the Citrus Limon? I would like to have more Citrus varieties but since the apartment is already pretty crowded with plants, my girlfriend does not want me to buy any more plants. Can I graft more varieties onto the tree? And should I do this above or below the original grafting point?
One last question:
The living room where the plants will stay for the winter is quite hot, 20 degrees Celcius (=68 Farenheit). The plants seem to think it is springtime, going from cold outside to warm inside and started blossoming and growing. So I think the plant needs a lot of light, however there are only two places in the living room where i can place it, one is near the south facing window where it will get some direct sunlight but then the plant will be placed close to a radiator. The other place is further from the window and radiator, approximately 3 meters where the plant won't get any direct sunlight. I am planning on using a 20 or 40 Watt LED growlight. Where should I place the plant?
note: the living room is also the kitchen so the air is not dry.
I hope you can give me some advice.
