Hello,

I was interrested by growing citrus and other plants so but I had no place untill I found a greenhouse for hire.

I grow a lot of cacti and tomatoes species but this winter I'll hire a 12m² greenhouse ( sorry I can translate in british units ). I tried to grow kumquat and "mandora" ( hybrid between orange and "mandarin" ). Only mandora germinated.

But now, I've a lot of place for my plants, so I'll begin to sow in a few months.

Can you give me some advices like : how and where to find good seeds, what king of plants I need to graft,...

If you want some cacti or tomatoes ( heirloom varieties ) seeds call me, I can give them for ( allmost ) free.

Sorry for any kind of mistake. It's the first time I try to speak English on a forum. Reading is easier.

Welcome Nemata! You will find many good people here. Some of us go overboard, but that is more of the norm than unusual.

That's a good greenhouse size.

Here's the conversion for us with the backward units left behind by the rest of the world:

129 square feet. That's a good size for me.

So how much do you pay for the rental? Does it include gas and electricity bills?

Welcome Nemata, The best place to get good seeds is from the fruit. Citrus seeds do not keep well and grow best when they are fresh. Most citrus are true to the mother plant and will produce a tree like the mother ( a clone), although there are some that are hybrid and produce zygotic seeds.

Many citrus need to be grafted onto a rootstock to do well and the rootstocks are often chosen to fit the soil type.

8€ a month : it includes warming and lighting!!

I calculated: only warming up and lighting costs more than 60€...
