Looks like the bark is splitting open. Dr. Manners should be able to help you. In one of the photos it looks like the trunk is girdled. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Is this tree in a container or planted in the ground? |

Well,
I can't see anything which shows up as a fungal infection. Aliette only helps against Phytophthora fungal infections, and here no symptome of such infection is visible.
So the symptomes seem to be more abiotic....
How is your culture? Fertilizer, watering, soil....!? _________________ Eerh, hmm, uuuh, oooh, just guessing |

Just for info, my 'Tahitian' lime is alive. I haven't sent any information until now, sorry for that.
I harvested almost 1kg of fruits this year. I left just a dozen fruits on the plant.
I thought it was a fungal disease but now, I'm pretty sure that I was too much anxious. It was certainly just a necrosis because of a wrong dosage of the fertilizer or of the soil quality.
Thanks for your answers. _________________
