Benny,
I would love to try it one of these days. Been to Florida several times on business trips, but never really got out that much between the hotel and place of work.
If you remember our Spanish history, the Spaniards called our "bagoong" as crocodrillo (crocodile meat). So you have been eating crocodile meat all this time, and alligator meat should be no different!

Heh?
Ahh.....
Just a thought.
My son's sensei was talking about attending karate tournaments outside of California such as New York or Florida or anywhere in US next year.
That's why they'll be busy raising funds like car washing and stuff.
Maybe that 's when I can taste them. Huh? |

Naah, perhaps better yet, a calamondin wine to go together with the fried gator tail would be much more enjoyable.
I harvested so much calamondin that I managed to make about 3 gallons of calamondin wine this year, and they are getting tastier as of the last racking. Still cloudy for now, will have to use some fining agents. Hope it will be bottled timely before Christmas is here.
I will reserve a few bottles to bring with me when I had the chance to go to Florida to try out the gator meat, or perhaps if someone can ship me the gator meat and will exchange with them the Calamondin wine. So who's up for exchange? |

This is my favorite
Alligator Balls
1 lb chopped alligator meat
1 egg
2 tbs finely chopped onions
2 tbs finely chopped celery
1 tbs finely chopped parsley
2 tbs chopped shallots
2 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup bread crumbs
Flour to dredge
1 cup Cooking oil
Combine all ingredients, form into 1 inch balls. Allow to set for 1 hour. Dredge with flour and fry until brown. Serve hot |

I thought the first item in the recipe was the main ingredient,
You may have to wrestle the gator to death to get their balls!!!
The rest of the ingredients explained it all and cleared things up for me, whew! |

I am sure that there has been a Cajun or two that have experimented with this, but it is the Bulls that fear us.

you guys are too much..
considering humans will eat almost any part of any animal.. I think we are feared by all..
on that note.. I love to try new foods.. maybe twice if I live through it the first time.. I do admit to a bout with veganism in my teens but pregnancy with my oldest cured me of that!! LOL
Can't wait till next yr to get down that way and try some new stuff!!
Hope you are having a great time Millet!!!

On my recent trip to expo, we went to a buffalo farm in Pa. I bought a buffalo roast & some ground meat. Got buf. stew slow cooking right now!
My friend Lil said "how can you eat that ugly thing" I said "same way we eat those ugly cows" LOL.
