hi!

I'm searching for a hardy citrus with scented foliage. lemon/lime scented leaves for cooking would be nice.
fruit quality is not important.
fast growing would be nice, so I don't have to cut down a single tree each year for one dish Laughing

Hi,
I have Citremon M33 from B.Voss in Hamburg. Very hardy tree, no flowering up to now (5 years in the ground), but leaves are extremely aromatic, with pleasant lemon scent.
Best regards,
Ilya

The leaves on Ichang Lemon have an intense citrus smell, and the tree is reasonably cold-hardy as well. A Mexican immigrant doing some work on our house recently told me that similar leaves are used to brew a kind of tea in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, his home. I've never tried cooking with them but the Ichang Lemons seem to be the leafiest variety in my small citrus collection.

Terry and Tim. I will have a cup of that yuko tea and a cup of ichang tea next November. Perhaps we can have a citrus leaf tea competition! Laughing

Stan,
I like it! It's a date.
I never thought of making a tea out ot citrus leaves. It's time to experiment.
