I can kind of guess what Japanese Bluegrass is....what in the world is Circuit Bent Toy Music?
I am a musician and have never heard of that one.
Always remember one simple question, Who defines weird?
|
"circuit bending" is taking cheap electronic toys, keyboards, dolls,etc. that make sounds or music and basically opening them up and hooking things together randomly, adding switches and other modifications so that they make weird noises, bloops and bleeps, squeals, etc. (basically do things they were never intended to do)
Its kind of an underground thing that only the truly nerdy would have an interest in. lol
Youtube has quite a few videos of people's creations and "music" made with these creations.
I have a small toy electronic keyboard I "liberated" from a friends son some years back. I added an electronic eye so I can do pitch bends by waving my hand over it, also added a guitar jack so I can plug it into a big amp and effects.
Who defines weird? I'm not sure but I'm doing my best |

My roots are in Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Cream, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Moody Blues, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Santana, Uriah Heep, Lynard Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, Procul Harem, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Rush, Def Leppard you get the idea.
I have enjoyed modern country. Not the crying in your beer whining stuff but the stuff that started in the early 90's and almost had a rock feel to it.
My go to right now is smooth jazz accompanied by bourbon of course.
Having said that if I was on that desrted island......... I'd have to go with Lazz's pick Led Zepplin. It is timeless. _________________ Charles in Pensacola

Laaz, no simple answer to your question, though.
I found myself in a mood today. Let me, instead of a widely known, mention some local stuff:
Still can recall this song which my parents liked:
"La Paloma": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkE7mY9meM0&feature=related
We, teenagers, liked the work of this cantauthor:
"caracas": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrHTbCFyLow&feature=related
He is a gardener now, last 20..25 years.
This troubadour played a role too:
"Cat": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzopM0uVNGM&feature=related
Lyrics for above: http://lyricstranslations.com/translated/ibrica-jusic-macka
"Emina": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRq7012FUWY&feature=related
30 years after and having kids I like to hear what youngs like,
dear performer Halid from Bosnia & Hercegovinia in visit,
"Twenties": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gP_mtIN1iY&feature=related
Toe from Macedonia, folk song from Bosnia&Hercegovinia:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV1AqQUux2o&feature=related
Family songs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ131NfPVtY&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEAS3aDkniY
EDIT: still in a mood, 2 local performance of songs from down there
Sweet Home Alabama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C84sKoSB70o&feature=related
Seven Lonely Days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cl_PsPnW8&feature=related
and one for Laaz for bringing this topic on,
Rock 'N' Roll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc5Bo0Vf1-4&feature=related _________________
